Jakarta Governor Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gives PT Jakarta Monorail one week deadline to complete all necessary documents to commence monorail construction. “One by one document is completed. I relieved, because when the documents are completed, they could be directly signed and the drilling could begin. This is good. From two steps, now is only one step left. I give them (PT JM) a week to complete all the documents,” stated Jokowi at the City Hall, Thursday (5/16).
The documents that must be completed are financial closing documents which related to the data of the new consortiums joined with PT JM for the monorail construction. Meanwhile, the documents detailing the payment for the construction of monorail poles to PT Adhi Karya have been submitted to Jakarta Provincial Government.
PT JM spokesperson Bovanantoo admitted good progress has been made. In addition, Jokowi has met with the new consortium of PT Ortus. “We have met with PT Ortus and PT Ortus will be our financial partner. We shall see whether PT Ortus is capable to become our financial partner or not,” he told.
According to Ortus Holding Business Development Director, Banyu B Djarot, concrete progress has been made. “We will show that PT Ortus is financially ready. The next step would be to determine the parameters in detail, which will reflect the group index as a whole,” he explained.
Moreover, the documents requested by the governor will be ready soon. “The governor wants it as soon as possible. I am sure we will be able to fulfill it,” he said.
As known, monorail construction was neglected for six years. This is because PT Adhi Karya was unwilling to continue the consortium with PT Jakarta Monorail. Through a long debate, PT JM finally agreed to pay the construction of monorail poles to PT Adhi Karya for Rp 190 billion with a total of 90 poles, in which design and foundation are included.
