In the aftermath of a single accident which made Ustadz (Arabic: male teacher) Jefry Al Bukhori or commonly known as Uje (40) lost his life, the police are working on the scene Jl. Gedung Hijau Raya, Pondok Indah, South Jakarta. Based on the prelim investigation, Uje was surmised had been thrown three meters away after he hit a palm tree.
“It could be surmised from the collision mark on the sidewalk until he hit a tree and fell, the accident happened quite fast. This is a definite single accident, probably caused by sleepiness,” stated Head of Law Enforcer and Guidance Sub-Directorate for Jakarta Police Traffic Directorate, AKBP Darmanto, on the scene, Friday (4/26).
Even so, Darmanto cannot make sure exactly how high Uje’s speed was at the time of the accident, because experts are needed to determine it. “We need the help of experts on this. This is simply a surmise of what had happened,” he told.
According to Darmanto, at the time of the accident the victim wore full-face helmet. However, the force of the collision made the helmet bounced off the victim’s head. “The helmet bounced off. It broke on the right,” he uttered.
Based on the police’s investigation on the scene, the first collision happened on the sidewalk. Five meters from there the motorcycle came up on the garden of house No. 17PB-38 and hit the palm tree. The motorcycle was still gaining momentum, and the victim was thrown off from the motorcycle as far as three meters to the road. Meanwhile, the motorcycle Kawasaki Ninja B 3590 SGQ got dragged on the street as far as 23 meters beside the victim.
“The victim suffered from severe wound on his head with profuse bleeding from his mouth and nose. By the time he arrived at Pondok Indah Hospital, the doctor declared the victim already dead. He was then brought to Fatmawati Hospital to be autopsied,” explained Darmanto.
Based on the police records, Uje was just finished giving sermon in Kemang. Around 1 AM, he arrived on Jl. Gedung Hijau Raya Pondok Indah, Pondokpinang, heading towards his house in Rempoa, Bintaro.
Three witnesses are being questioned regarding the accident. “They are the local security of the house, a stall owner, and an adjutant who followed Uje at the time,” informed Darmanto.
Many citizens are flocking around the scene to see it closer, and caused the traffic on Jl. Gedung Hijau Raya from Pondokpinang and Pondok Indah Utama congested.
Meanwhile, Uje’s body was laid at the grieving house in Bukit Mas Real Estate on Jl. Narmada III Block 1 No. 11, Rempoa, Bintaro. Then, Uje was brought to Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, for people to pray on him, to be interred later at Karet Bivak Public Cemetery, Central Jakarta.
