Jakarta Education Department finally announces the results of 2013 National Exam (UN) for Senior High School (SMA) and Vocational School (SMK) students in Jakarta, Friday (5/24). According to the data, as many as 76 SMA and SMK students do not pass the national exam.
Head of Jakarta Education Department, Taufik Yudi Mulyanto, said that in total there were 125 thousand of SMA and SMK students took the exam, and 76 of them failed. Those 76 students consist of 73 SMA students or 0.143 out of 61 thousand SMA students, and 3 SMK students or 0.005 percent out of 64 thousand SMK students who took the exam. “There are 76 Jakarta (SMA/SMK) students do not pass the exam, which a thing that is unavoidable. However, this result is better than last year,” he stated, Friday (5/24).
According to Mulyanto, 99.85 percent of SMA students and 99.95 percent of SMK students succeeded in the national exam. This graduation result is better compared to last year, which was only 99.65 percent for SMA and 99.92 percent for SMK.
The graduation announcement itself can be accessed at www.disdik.jakarta.go.id, www.sma-dki.web.id, and each school’s website. Mulyanto explained it is deliberately conducted to anticipate the occurrence of vandalizing uniforms and brawl action among students after national exam announcement. “The graduation is announced via internet in order to prevent vandalism action and student brawl,” he told.
In addition, this year Jakarta Education Department obligates schools to hold events where the students must wear archipelago traditional dresses. There are at least 45 schools hold events during the graduation announcement. “Wearing archipelago traditional dresses to foster a sense of nationalism,” finished Mulyanto.
