The sudden death of Ustadz Jefri Al Buchori (40), or commonly known as Uje, has shocked many people. Vice Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama is no exception. The number two person in Jakarta Provincial Government turns out highly admired Uje for his wide view on Islam.
“I would like to convey my condolences to Uje’s family,” stated Basuki at the City Hall, Friday (4/26).
Basuki admitted he has admired Uje in conveying his sermon back since he was still the Regent of Belitung Timur. “I had invited him to Belitung Timur. I cannot remember when exactly. I invited him because I like his sermon which was easy to listen to. Uje was very cool when he conducted his sermon,” he told.
For Basuki, Uje’s demise is a big loss for the people of Indonesia. “This country has lost one of its best and most extraordinary man and a religious figure,” he expressed.
According to Basuki, Uje is a figure who was able to provide coolness and enlightenment to the hearts of the people. “Uje was a charismatic cleric,” he said.
